Another update from Camp Akiva. The Chapel is coming along nicely and should be completed soon. We had a slight setback on some construction issues but those have been resolved and progress is still continuing. For those wondering, the Camp Akiva Chapel is wider than it is longer like we’ve had at Brookhaven (where we’ve held Royal Family since 1999). It may appear to be a two-story building but the top level is actually going to be used for storage. We’re excited to have a large gathering space for chapel and other special all-together times at camps and retreats.
The Chapel will also serve as an iconic building on the Camp Akiva campus as it sits close to the front of the campus. After groups check in at the new office (we will start construction on this building soon), the main road leads you right to the Chapel. From the Chapel, you can see the entire camp so it will be a great focal point for those who come to Camp Akiva!
